READ BOOKS LIKE ME INITIATIVE
Building community, inspiring readers and expanding book access, the Hay Family Legacy Foundation is dedicated to stepping up efforts in addressing representation in education and public libraries.
Read Books Like Me Initiative is an ongoing effort to get more diverse books into the public library and into the hands and homes of children.

Read Books Like Me will distribute books that celebrate BIPOC voices, provide prospective on racism and social justice and incorporate experiences from all identities for all readers.

Less than 25% of children's books depict non-white characters. We believe everyone should be able to see themselves in the pages of a book. We also know that books can be a window into experiences that are different from our own. By reading diverse books, we can increase understanding, empathy, and inclusion.

Our last book donation was to Barbara Bush Bush Public Library.
